Spectra de Solace

Assalamualaikum. Hey how are you? :D

A grand event took place last night, the first ever first year batch dinner, Spectra de Solace! So to sum up, Spectra means colour and Solace means unique? That's what they said hehe >__> I had a great time hanging out with my gorgeous friends and and and my stomach was full (happy). Being the cheap person that we are, my lovely housemates and I brought tupperwares and plastics to umm...tapau some food la hahaha. Caught by the waiter but he got nothing against me yo! Hehe. Ah, what else, oh yeah I got a makeover. My lovely housemates and the main stylist Umi made me over from top to bottom. Well, I guess why not, it was a lot of fun <3

And... let the pics roll~

Fatihah, I see what u did there

My lovely FAG (Forever Alone Gang) mates

Our carriage, yeah I know, pretty exciting. Considering that everyone got a lil sweaty from waiting and there's no aircond haha, but still it was a pleasant ride!

In front of Portofino, but never in haha

Wanderlust

Assalamualaikum. Hey how are you? :D

I believe that only people who are really close to me know that I like to travel. I'm really into adventure. Maybe, reading adventure books and playing video games have something to do with it but I can feel the traveler inside of me, really! So, for today's blog post, instead of "daytravel" (daydreaming + travel), I'd like to show you guys some of the places that I wish and hopefully will get the chance to go to. IT'S REALLY AMAZING AND SOOO BEAUTIFUL!! Here are the three places that I CERTAINLY NEED TO GO! I MUST! So, sit back, take a deep breath and enjoy what the world has to offer!

Disclaimer: Pictures are not mine. I just googled it. Nuff said.

Ahh wait, before I start I must yell this out....."ADVENTURE TIME!!!" *coughs* ehem, yes, let's move on.

1. Salar de Uyuni - Bolivia

A place where you can see the reflection of the sky. Salar de Uyuni is actually a salt flat, the largest in the world if I'm not mistaken. It is also known as one of the best Photographers' spots. I don't blame them, I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Personally, the first time I saw Salar de Uyuni, it was completely breathtaking. I'm completely amazed at how beautiful the Earth is. <3

The hotels there are pretty unique too. They're made up of salts! You can feel it now, can't you? The traveler in you is tingling!

Here's a video of Salar de Uyuni, enjoy <3

2. Lake Retba / Lac Rose - Senegal

I know what you're thinking, it's pink! Yeah it's pink, and natural too. The bacteria called cyanobacteria, which is a harmless one causes it to be pink. Similar to the dead sea, Lac Rose is known for it's high salt content. So, you'll float! ^__^ Just imagine yourself floating all day long in a lake full of strawberry milkshake! But don't drink it because it'll be a salty strawberry milkshake!

3.  Ghibli Museum - Japan

Last but DEFINITELY NOT the least, Ghibli Museum. Okay, so I'm going to be frank, I'VE BEEN ITCHING TO GO HERE FOR A LOOONG TIME! Ehem..*clears throat*, uhh where was I, oh yeah, Ghibli Museum. Just because it's man-made, doesn't make it any less magical. If you're famlilar with Studio Ghibli, or Ghibli movies done by the ever awesome Hayao Miyazaki, this place here is where you'll find all of his characters come alive! The wonderful thing about Hayao Miyazaki is that he's so detailed about his movies and not to mention, the details of Ghibli Museum. It's so lovely~ <3 And the best thing is, it's so homey and magical at the same time.

Come now, and daytravel with me to Ghibli Museum...

"Hey there Totoro!" So how does it feel to be greeted by Totoro!!? ^___^

Let's go to the cafe and have a cup of Kiki's hot chocolate <3

<3 And just enjoy yourself  <3

You can see Totoro and Chihiro along with Haku

Reminded me of the time when Satsuki and Mei pumped out the water.

And here, we can watch Ghibli films! The ceiling resembles the baby's room in Spirited Away.

That's it for today's post! So, where do you want to go? :) One day, I'm gonna set foot to ADVENTURE! Traveling's kinda tough but for the experience, it's all worth it!

Ciao, till next time! Have a nice day <3

A little bit

Assalamualaikum. Hey there! Just a quick update. Something that I need for myself and hopefully for you too ^___^ “People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.” -Zig Ziglar.

Today's "inspiring" quote would be from one of my favs,

"a little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men" -Willy Wonka

Don't stress, chill. You don't want to catch a disease...or let your neurons die.

All the best to everyone! Have a nice day.

hey

Assalamualaikum. Hey, how's everyone? (hides in a corner) Ok, ok I know, I've been on a hiatus for quite some time now. Module exams for the previous one is over, and the very next day after the exams, we started class for the new one, THE last module of FIRST YEAR!! O____O Ngaaa!! So yeah, that's about it...

SO as an apology, I am going to post about the events that had been going on in my life. Yes, my days here in Egypt are always so eventful.

FIRST, I'll be talking about INTERNATIONAL DAY.  The Malaysian students did dikir barat, the Nigerians introduced some of their many tribes, the Egyptians performed songs and Saudi Arabians showed us a video. And...I get to eat Nasi Lemak for free for lunch. SCORE! Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to enjoy the many booths that the students had put up. Everything's closed by the time we got there. =_____=  ....PICTURE TIME!

The one in the middle is actually the Saudi Arabia's student representative, aka Fatihah's new sweetheart hahaha! It was fun to watch him join the Nigerians' dance. He was so clueless but yeah he definitely enjoyed himself, I can tell you that!

Okay so my neighbour's son just got married! Congrats hehe! It was fun to watch them dancing in the streets, had to restrain myself from joining them dance downstairs, but yeah, did a bad interpretation of their dance with Fatihah in our room. One thing I must add, we're on the third floor and still we could hear them as if we're on the ground floor. No I'm not exaggerating because my friend living in a different street, across the tram could hear them. But I love the lights, our oh so always gloomy building really lit up ^___^

And lastly, today, Fatihah and I were again invited to one of our dear Egyptian friend's surprise birthday party. It was a lot of fun. The cake was cute and YUMMEH!

While waiting for people to gather, Fatihah and I decided to wait here, specifically, in the Faculty's "garden". It's summer time and the flowers are really blooming!

Brown shoes + Blue socks = nice Yang

Fatihah's birthday gift

My birthday gift. Ah yes, I have a 6 year old's colouring ability.

Oooh everyone's so excited!

What'd I tell ya, CUTE CAKE!! A huge chocolate and cream cake. YUMMY!

Have a nice day, see ya ciao~

Of Mutated Totoro and Bloody Thumbs

Assalamualaikum! Hey ho, how are you? ^____^ So, for the module I'm currently studying, we are required to  prick our thumbs to get some blood sample for uuuhh...bloody experiments. All's well...sort of. Plus, we have to prick our thumbs again for the coming exam, in the experiment part. Hmmm....looking forward to that o___o But it's fun. Plus, I get to know my own blood group and that's a BONUS!

Future doctors playing "history taking" with a patient while pricking the patient's thumb.

>>>> On the right, we have the Dr. who taught us about how to do Blood Grouping.

When the section ended, we all began to be our vain selves hahaha.

Oh yeah!  I made an attempt on making a totoro origami. A mutated totoro origami it became. Note to self, use origami papers next time, and NOT your leftover/extra module question paper. Ciao, till next time! Have a nice day!
